I spent last week skiing in Austria with friends. The local food was hearty, tasty and very meaty! The portions were so generous I didn’t get to try many traditional desserts but did have a lovely apple strudel (and lots of gluhwein which is pretty sweet!). Inspired by my trip I decided to make an Austrian style cake today. The most famous cake is Sachertorte which is a rich chocolate cake but I decided on a more basic coffee walnut cake.
