I made these ‘Beautiful Helen pears’ last week from the Little Paris Kitchen cookbook. The pears were poached in vanilla sugar syrup and served with a warm dark chocolate sauce. Simple but délicieux! It is also a good recipe to use in a credit crunch! I used the syrup to make a fruit salad and the left over chocolate sauce on ice cream – 3 for the price of 1!
